How far in advance should I book a flight to Mexico for New Year’s Eve?
I’d like to get a sense of when airlines offer the best prices and itineraries for holiday travel. I’m traveling from MSP to Cabo over New Year’s week 08-09, and right now the prices and itineraries are terrible. When is the best time to book at low prices with lots of options? This destination normally costs me $350-$500, and a quick search today came up with $800+ per person. WTH?

I usually purchase tickets around 1- 2 months before my preferred departure. They are usually a bit cheaper then and you won’t feel angry when the prices go lower if you purchase them way to early.
