New Zealand has a number of visa free countries but you haven’t said where in Asia you’re from. Everything you need to know including the list of visa free countries and how to apply is at:

Does the rest of the world know that New Zealand is not part of Australia? I only say this because there are an awful lot questions on here abut NZ……..

Australia and New Zealand might be close but we have no real immigration ties, except between citizens of both countries.

It is seemly popular for tourists to want to visit NZ while in Australia but unfortunatly, as you’re not a citizen you will need to get a tourist visa to visit NZ.

Tourist visas are typically quite cheap though. Make sure you student visa will allow you to re enter Australia after your trip.
